Kyriba today announced that it has canceled its Kyriba Live! 2017 event, scheduled for Sept. 10-12 in Atlanta, due to Hurricane Irma.
According to meteorologists, the powerful storm, one of the largest ever recorded on the Atlantic, is scheduled to plow through Florida over the weekend, and hit Atlanta early next week with strong wind and rain.
Kyriba CEO Jean-Luc Robert made the decision for several reasons:
- To protect the general safety of customers, partners and employees in unpredictable circumstances
- To avoid the massive traffic jams and flight delays that are already occurring in Atlanta, as residents in Florida seek refuge in other states
- To reduce any additional congestion – no matter how slight – that Kyriba Live may have caused so local authorities can focus potential relief efforts
Although this is a difficult situation, the safety and well-being of the Kyriba community comes first.
Our goal for Kyriba Live! is to create an enduring, positive educational and networking experience for our clients and partners. The known and anticipated complications in the Atlanta area would prevent us from achieving our vision for Kyriba Live! 2017.
Kyriba will look to reschedule this conference in the early part of 2018 at a time and place to be decided. We hope our clients and partners understand and we look forward to connecting with them soon. If scheduled attendees have any questions, they can contact [email protected] or their respective point of contact at Kyriba.
